Location
This luxury Alpine hotel is located on a hill above the village of Mösern, which may not sound familiar to you, but you might already know the town of Seefeld, which is 4 km away. Mösern is located 20 km west of Innsbruck on the southern edge of the Seefeld plateau at an altitude of around 1200 m above sea level. The place belongs to the tourist area called the Seefeld Olympic Region. There are a number of hiking and cycling trails, lakes, and in the winter, skiers and cross-country skiers come here.
Nidum Casual Luxury Hotel
I will start by saying that I was interested that the hotel does not have a number of stars listed anywhere. When I asked about it, the hotel manager told me that they don't want to be boxed into given categories, that they are a new concept of Casual Luxury Hotels, which means a luxury hotel with all the amenities, but at the same time guests should feel comfortable here, that's why you'll come across corridors on crossed-out tie signs with the inscription No tie - you don't have to wear a suit and tie, but what you see fit. No one is forcing you to do anything, and that's nice. But according to my humble estimate, the hotel corresponds to 5* completely. And in addition, it is in harmony with nature. The most frequently used materials are wood and stone. The roofs are planted with greenery. Horses graze in the pastures around the hotel. There is a forest above the hotel and next to it there is a natural swimming lake with sunbeds, which is part of the hotel's SPA.
As I mentioned, the hotel is located on a steep hill. By car, you will arrive in front of the entrance, where there is something like a roundabout. You go to the reception desk to check in, get room cards and drive into the underground garages, which are entered under the hotel. The elevator goes directly from the garage to the rooms. The hotel has a total of 7 floors. In the uppermost one there are 2 totally luxurious suites, which I will be able to show you thanks to the excellent hotel manager.
Rooms
The hotel has a total of 57 rooms of several categories, all with a view of the mountains. I assure you that even the "lowest" category is luxurious. All rooms have a balcony, desk, coffee table, armchair, sofa, TV, wifi, blackout curtains, separate bathroom and toilet, safe, minibar and chest of drawers with a luxury Illy capsule coffee machine incl. capsules, a kettle with a range of teas and the necessary dishes. There is also a corkscrew for wine and glasses. In the room you will also find a hotel bag for the SPA, which contains large towels, bathrobes and slippers. The floors are partly wooden and partly carpeted. There is an umbrella and a spoon for putting on shoes in the spacious cupboards.
A bottle of water is waiting for you in your room upon arrival, which is replenished daily.
The bathrooms are really spacious, some have a shower, some have a bathtub. Infinite storage space, finally, I hate mini bathrooms where I don't even have a place to put my cosmetics. In the bathroom, you will find a vanity kit, hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo 2 in 1, conditioner, liquid hand soap, body lotion, paper towels, basket, lighted magnifying mirror. The beds are particularly comfortable, you can choose 1 of two pillows, both soft enough to sink into without neck pain in the morning, and amazingly soft sheets. I didn't even want to get up. And if it wasn't bad to me, I would have gone home with the bedclothes :)))
Casual Room is 35 m², for 1-2 persons, shower and all above, no minibar.
Enjoy Room is 36 m², for 2 people, some rooms have a shower and some have a bath, and all of the above.
Free Room is 38 m², for 2 people, shower, and the bathroom is part of the room, separated by a curtain, does not have a minibar, the cheapest room type.
Nice Suite is 52 m², it is a corner room on the floors, there is a bedroom with a large bathroom and a living room.
Waw Suite has 72 m², a bedroom, a living room, a dressing room and a huge bathroom with a shower, bathtub and sauna.
Awesome Suite is 118 m², there are only two of these in the hotel, they occupy the entire seventh floor. And it is something! I recommend to families or friends. There is a smaller bedroom with its own bathroom with shower, separate toilet, closets. Master bedroom with shower, separate wc, bathtub in room and sauna. A living room with a kitchenette, a large dining table, a coffee table, a large corner couch and a fireplace, with a huge terrace with a jacuzzi. Balconies on three sides. Everything again in a modern mountain design, it's really beautiful, and you don't even have to visit the hotel SPA, you have your own here.
Food
You can book a room with either breakfast or half board. And I definitely recommend the half-board!
The hotel has a total of 3 restaurants (all are in one place, only separated in appearance and construction), a bar, a hotel terrace and a wine "cellar". If you have any food allergies, let know the hotel when booking your room and the chefs will prepare a customized menu for you. Mediterranean and Alpine cuisine are mixed here. It is also possible to order lunch a la carte in the hotel restaurant.
The breakfasts are really great. I haven't seen such a large selection of luxury fruit, and in autumn, for a long time. You can have almost everything: several types of juices, muesli, yogurts, jams, nutella, vegetables, salads, salami, cheeses, spreads, smoked salmon, eggs in several ways, sausages, the chef will make you an omelette on request, scrambled eggs, there are savory and sweet pastries and a really large selection. Of course, there is champagne, and there is also a juice room where you can make a fresh. The waiters will bring you coffee and tea on request. You can also choose dinner for breakfast.
Dinner is a real experience. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman: "But I only know salad fork." Fortunately, I remember the lesson from this movie: "Get it out of the way." :)
First, you pick up whatever you like from the buffet - fresh and baked vegetables, mixed salads, spreads, pâtés, canapés, there was always some seafood, cheeses, salami. Then comes the second appetizer, already served and it was always soup, pasta or risotto. The main course usually consisted of meat, fish and a vegetarian dish, and of course dessert was a must. Drinks with dinner are charged, you can have it written in the room by signing the bill. For example, a beer here cost 5 Euros, which seems to me a very pleasant price for a 5* hotel. A bottle of wine around 50 Euros, if you don't finish the bottle, they will hide it for your next dinner.
Wellness
The hotel boasts a really beautiful wellness area, you will definitely relax here. On the given floor you will find a very decently equipped fitness with a cardio zone and a view of the mountains. In the next room there is a gym, where you can work out in group lessons or play ping pong or billiards. There is also a massage parlor where you can order a massage as you wish. There is a room near the SPA reception where you can refresh yourself - you will find juices, water, teas, fruit, nuts and other healthy snacks here. Well, we smoothly transition into the indoor pool with a swim out and, of course - with a view of the mountains. You can lie on the comfortable deckchairs both inside and outside and sunbathe. The indoor pool is open from 7 a.m., the outdoor pool from 9 a.m. Behind the pool is the sauna world, which opens at 11 a.m. There is a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna, and you can either jump into the shower or out into the cooling pool. There is also an outdoor hot tub next to it. But without a doubt, the most interesting sauna I've ever seen is located separately outside. You can reach it via a suspension bridge. It is a wooden cabin embedded in the rock and here is just the view! This sauna works from 3 p.m. And if all this wasn't enough for you, there is also a natural swimming lake above the hotel, also with luxurious sunbeds. Well, it is clear to you where you will spend your next relaxing vacation, right?
Trips
Lake Möserer See
The lake is located a little above the hotel, at an altitude of 1300 m, you can walk to it in 15 minutes, it is about 800 m. But it is up a very steep hill. If you are lazy or want to continue to the next location, I recommend driving a car. You drive down from the hotel to the main road Mösererdorfstrasse, turn left and immediately take the first left onto Möserer Seeweg. It's a short way. You will reach a smaller paid parking lot. Even though there are two parking lots on the map, the upper one is not accessible, there is already a barrier there. The parking fee is paid in the machine, either with coins, card or via the app. The parking fee for 4 hours is 2.5 Euros, which is more than enough for you, you probably have nothing to do there within two hours, even if you went there for lunch, there is also a restaurant by the lake. It's not the classic clear lake that we're used to from the Alps, it's more like a larger pond with ducklings, you can easily walk around it in about half an hour. But there is beautiful nature around, forests, lots of benches, you can sit and enjoy. In addition to ducks, whales swim here :) I've never seen such big carp before. The interesting thing is that dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake, you are not allowed to ride a paddle board, or fish there, but apparently you can swim there, we did not see a direct prohibition of swimming (except for the demarcated areas with reeds) on the sign. So if you can stand the water temperature.
Seefeld
Seefeld is 4 km from the hotel, about 5 minutes by car. The town is quite well-known, fans of winter sports will certainly know it, the Winter Olympic Games in Nordic disciplines were held here twice, biathlon and classic skiing competitions are held here, there are ski jumps and slopes. In the summer you can also go on various hikes here, we saw several cable cars up the hills, unfortunately we did not have enough time to explore the terrain in this regard, we must definitely come back here.
Seefeld in Tirol is the largest tourist center in the Innsbruck countryside district. Innsbruck is 17 km away. About 3,500 people live here. The center of the town, where there is a pedestrian zone, is very nice. You can park in the marked paid parking lots in front of the pedestrian zone, pay in the machine, I recommend having change. The pedestrian zone is full of hotels, restaurants and shops. An important monument on the square is the Parish Church of St. Oswald from the 15th century. Right next to it is a former Augustinian monastery from the 16th century, but today it has been converted into a 5* hotel. There is also a lake a short distance from the center and near it you will find the Lake Church of St. cross, you can also visit the ruins of the Schlossberg castle or the forest cemetery on the eastern edge of the village with a chapel and a memorial to the victims of the death transport who died at the end of April 1945 on the way from the Dachau concentration camp.
Innsbruck
We were in Innsbruck a year ago and you can read a separate article here: What to see in Innsbruck.
The next time I go here, I will also describe some of the hikes in the area, it is definitely worth going here for the whole week. You will be pampered in beautiful nature in a quiet place, in beautiful rooms with a great SPA and excellent food. Well, I don't know what I could fault this hotel for, and I almost always find something :) We didn't want to leave :)
