Location
The hotel is located in the popular seaside resort of Crikvenica, which is very popular especially among Czechs. Crikvenica is located on the coast of the Kvarner Gulf and is about 25 km from Rijeka. Crikvenica is a smaller town, known primarily for its spa.
Aminess Younique Narrivi Hotel 5*
You will certainly appreciate the location of the hotel, as it is located right on the beach promenade with many shops and restaurants, overlooking the port, from where you can take boat trips. There is a minor problem with parking, as you cannot park directly at the hotel. So you have to unload your luggage on the street and park your car a few hundred meters from the hotel in a contractual parking lot equipped with a barrier. It was nice that the lady from the reception got into our car and personally showed us around. If you want to park directly at the hotel, you can pay extra for the underground garages.
Accommodation
The hotel has 40 rooms and suites, most of which have a sea view. You can choose from double rooms with a balcony and a partial or direct sea view in the Deluxe or Premium categories. If you are more demanding or there are more of you, choose a suite, which consists of a bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay: comfortable beds, electrically controlled blackout curtains, TV, work desk and relaxation table with armchair, fast wifi, Nespresso capsule coffee machine, including capsules, electric kettle including a selection of teas, minibar (for a fee), safe, bathrobes, slippers. Spacious bathroom with shower and toiletries (hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, vanity kit, paper tissues), hairdryer, magnifying mirror. There is also a seating area and a drying rack on the balcony.
Even though the promenade is quite busy in the evening, the hotel has excellent soundproofing, so any noise from the street will not disturb you while you are falling asleep.
Food
You will enjoy both breakfast and dinner. A very nice selection for breakfast, considering that the hotel was quite small. You have both a cold buffet and hot dishes from the menu, already included in the price. You can order, for example, delicious avocado toast with salmon, omelet, eggs Benedict, English breakfast, scrambled eggs, ham and eggs, and more. The buffet had the classics: cheeses, salami, fruit, vegetables, spreads, smoked salmon, cereals, yogurts, jams, savory and sweet pastries, smoothies, juice, excellent coffee and there was even champagne. Nothing to complain about.
As for restaurants. There are one next to the other on the promenade, but be careful where you go. Even if it is full of people, it does not guarantee quality. In one we had undercooked fish, in another we had poorly seasoned pasta (tasteless), and the ice cream and cocktails were not always good.
If you try the restaurant in the hotel - Half 8 Restaurant - a private brand of the Aminess chain, you won't make a mistake. It focuses mainly on Mediterranean cuisine. You can sit both in the air-conditioned areas inside (where there is also a TV with a sports channel when there is a major sporting event, just for the gentlemen :), and outside in the garden with a view of the harbor. The food is beautifully decorated, perfectly seasoned and the prices are quite reasonable for a 5* hotel! We really had a great meal.
Beaches and wellness
The hotel does not have its own beach, it is more of a city hotel. However, there are long beaches to the right and left of the hotel. On the left is a pebble to cobble beach, where I recommend water shoes and you must have your own, definitely padded, sun loungers for this beach (or you can pay for sun loungers and an umbrella). There is also a bar. On the right are long sandy beaches (coarse sand to fine pebbles) and there are also trees, if you do not want to be in the sun all day. But expect crowds. If you want to enjoy peace on a half-empty beach, go to the new Aminess Avalona Campsite Resort 5*. Even though it is a campsite and not a hotel, we were totally thrilled here. Read the article. It is certainly a better place for families with children, I recommend this hotel in Crikvenica more for adults.
You will not be deprived of wellness. On the roof there is a small indoor pool with access to an outdoor terrace with a view, which also has a jacuzzi. You can lie down both outside and inside. Next to the pool there is also a sauna world with several saunas and a small, but well-equipped gym. If you would like to have a beautification or massage, this is also an option.
Trips
There is a sea aquarium and a number of churches in Crikvenica. If you are sporty, you can go for a hike or a bike ride, but don't count on riding on flat roads. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle on the promenade or on the square by the port, where various outdoor events and concerts take place. You can take a spin on the Ferris wheel in the port or book a boat trip. For example, you have a glass-bottomed submarine at your disposal or you can sail around the island of Krk. We went on a trip to the island of Krk to the historic town of Vrbnik, which was a half-day trip. Below Vrbnik you can swim on a small pebble beach, which you have to walk through a cave to get to. The town is on a pretty steep hill, but don't worry, a small train will take you up from the port for a small fee and then you can walk down easily, it's not far. We had a guide who showed us the most interesting places (in addition to the great view of the mainland and the surrounding area, there is also one of the narrowest streets in the world), we had a wine and schnapps tasting and then we were separated so we could have lunch and browse the local shops. The historic center is not big, so there was plenty of time to explore.
Summary
A top hotel. Beautiful comfortable rooms and excellent food. If you like busy resorts, this is the place for you. If you want to enjoy a more relaxing holiday, I would recommend Aminess Avalona Campsite Resort 5*, there was total peace and half-empty beaches, because the resort has its own private beach.
