Lawenda boutique apartments

Location

Villa Lawenda is located in the Polish spa town of Kudowa Zdroj, not far from the Czech border. Nachod is the closest of the Czech cities. The town is really picturesque and you will certainly not be bored here, I recommend you tips for trips below. Lawenda apartments are located in a quiet residential area, the main street with many restaurants and shops is about 5 minutes walk away, as well as the spa promenade, so the location is really very convenient.

Access to the villa and parking

On the morning of your arrival, you will receive an SMS with the address and instructions on where to park (it is parked 40 m across the road on a fenced lot) and how to get to the house. Check-in is self-service. You will receive a code via SMS to open the main door and the apartment door.

Apartments

The spirit of old times breathes upon you at Villa Lawenda. The apartments are located in a house from 1898. The apartments are newly renovated, and even though they are modern, they still retain the rusticity of the past. The house now has 11 large apartments, one and two bedroom, with fully equipped kitchens so you can cook for yourself.

I was able to explore almost all the apartments. Each is a little different. Those who have a problem with walking up stairs (there is no elevator in the building) can take the ground floor apartment. Those who like to relax on a spacious terrace overlooking the garden can take one of the apartments on the 1st floor. And we were most charmed by the attic apartment, which I will describe in detail, namely apartment No. 11.

Two-bedroom apartments No. 6 and 11 (for 4 people). Apartments No. 3, 4, 10 are one-bedroom, but for 4 people thanks to the sofa bed. Apartments No. 7 and 8 for 2 people with a terrace facing the garden are located on the 1st floor. If you go with friends, take these 2 apartments next to each other, the terraces can be connected and you can sit outside together. Apartments for 2 people are No. 1, 2, 5 and 9.

Apartment Nr. 11

2 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor under a roof with romantic wooden beams. Each bedroom also has its own bathroom with toilet, TV (there is no antenna in the TV, so only streaming services work after logging in, if you pay for them at home). There is a well-functioning wifi throughout the villa. The larger bedroom is located in the space where there is also a dining table and a kitchen. Optically, it is separated by a wooden structure. The bed is very comfortable.

A nice surprise awaited us on the table, fruit, a bottle of wine and sparkling and still water, thank you very much! The kitchen is fully equipped. Here you will find all the necessary dishes, a large sink, a dishwasher, a microwave, a large refrigerator, a capsule coffee machine including capsules (if you will be here for more than 2 nights, I recommend taking a supply of capsules, the coffee machine is a Bosch Tassimo brand, Jacobs capsules), there is also sugar, honey, salt and pepper, kettle including a selection of teas, paper and cloth towels, sponge and dishcloth including a cleaner, basket including bags, double-burner glass-ceramic plate with a powerful steam extractor, so you can safely cook if you want. But who wants to cook on vacation, especially when the area is full of restaurants.

In the bathrooms you will find towels, slippers, toilet paper, hand soap, Loccitane cosmetics (shower gel, shampoo, body lotion), hairdryer.

Beautiful wooden floors, windows have been replaced, good sealing, blackout curtains.

The villa also has a garden with old, tall trees. I love the smell of pine trees, you're actually halfway through the forest. In the spring, rhododendrons bloom near the house, later daylilies, hydrangeas and lavender, so it will be a complete spectacle in the summer season. Your children can play in the garden, it is fenced.

Kudowa Zdroj

Kudowa-Zdrój is a Polish spa town under the Table Mountains (National Park). It is located in southwestern Poland, not far from the Czech border. The nearest Czech city is Nachod. Less than 10,000 people live in the town.

Kudowa Zdroj is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe, spas have existed here since the 15th century. The oldest part of the city is Velká Čermná, where near the church of St. Bartholomew you can visit the ossuary.

In the spa, diseases of the heart, circulatory system, digestive disorders, thyroid gland activity and others are treated. Today, 5 springs of alkaline-earth and arsenic-iron acid are used. The springs rise in a park, the end of which is dominated by the Polonia sanatorium from 1905. Below it is a pavilion where one of the springs is, I was a little surprised that the spring is paid for. Although it was a symbolic amount, PLN 3, the springs are mostly freely accessible in our country. In addition to the spring, the pavilion also has a stylish cafe and the option of therapeutic baths.

Famous guests of these spas include, for example, German poet Goethe, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Czech writers Alois Jirasek, J.V. Sladek or F. X. Salda.
