Hotel Pošta belongs to the hotel group TMR hotels and their place of work is mainly in the High and Low Tatras. However, TMR hotels can already be found in the Czech Republic. We have visited several hotels from this network and they are at a very high level, you will not make a mistake, whichever you choose.

If you decide to try TMR hotels or stay in just one of them, and you are planning to visit the area, I recommend that you arrange GOPASS. You will receive discounts on accommodation in these hotels, as well as on ski passes and entrances to water parks, discounts in partner restaurants, shops, etc. GOPASS applies to partner ski resorts in the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and Austria and will definitely pay off. You can top up your credit and then pay directly with the card, or you can buy a ski pass or a ticket for the cable car over the internet in the summer and you don't have to stand in line. In addition to discounts, you will receive points for purchases, which you will then use as another form of discount, read the conditions on their website, but it will definitely pay off on your first visit to the hotel or ski resort. You can see here how many kilometers you have skied, for example. GOPASS can be used in 5 countries, 26 resorts and 18 hotels, and the network is growing every year.

But back to the Hotel Pošta. I highly recommend it to mountain lovers who like comfort and nature. The hotel is located directly at the ski slope and cable car of the best Slovak ski resort Jasná, it is the last cable car on the right. You go up, you ski a little to the left and you join the chair lift, and when you continue to the left you reach the cabin to Chopok, which starts about halfway up the slope, it doesn't go straight from the bottom, from nowhere, you have to change. If you do not want to go downhill skiing (or this cabin does not run in summer), you will walk around the Happy End restaurant and Crystal bar to the chairlift (max. 5 minutes walk from the hotel more or less along the plain) ending at the cog railway, and you will go directly to the cabin to Chopok. The Jasná-Chopok ski resort is really great and boldly competes with smaller ski resorts in the Alps, unfortunately also in terms of price. You will cross one side of Chopok on one side. The hotel has a luxurious location, it also provides guests with a larger car park under the hotel, so you don't have to deal with where to park every morning, because the capacity of cars is quite limited.

And again, I'm talking about the area and not about the hotel, but now I'm really getting better :)

Hotel Pošta (pošta = post office in English) is unique with its architecture, gastronomy and services. The space of the original post office was enlivened by modern design, inspired by the beauty of the Tatras, and a luxury 4 * hotel was created here. Emphasis is also placed on nature in the rooms, which are lined with wood, decorated with leather and stylish wooden furniture. You will be located at an altitude of 1117 m directly below the mountains, in good weather you will see Chopok (the third highest mountain in the Low Tatras) and you will enjoy wonderful views of the surroundings.

The hotel has 24 rooms and 7 suites. The rooms are large, there is plenty of space and warm carpets, which is especially useful in winter. The bed in the Deluxe Saffron Room, we stayed in, was very comfortable. What I missed here was an electric kettle and a selection of teas and coffees, which is standard in 4* hotels. I hope they have improved in the meantime. Especially when other hotels offered herbal Tatra teas (I don't mean alcoholic ones now), I think that would be a nice consideration for guests, due to the price per room. We had a room facing the ski slope to see the weather in Chopok and how big the queue at the cabin is. You can also have a room on the other side overlooking the forest and listen to the bubbling stream.

The hotel restaurant serves you for refreshments, where buffet breakfasts and dinners are served - the food is really luxurious, as in the experience restaurant, delicious in taste, the plates decorated. You can enjoy a coffee and cake in the lobby bar at reception. A new Pošta bar has been added, I can't rate it, when we were here, the bar didn't work yet.

After skiing or hiking, relaxation in the wellness is sure to come in handy. The hotel has a small indoor stainless steel pool, which serves more like a large hot tub, you can't swim here. There is also a small outdoor hot tub for two, which is great especially in winter, where you can soak in the hot water and there is snow around you. You're under the roof, so it's not snowing on you, just cool. You can warm up in the larger Finnish sauna with beautiful forest views or in the steam sauna. There are both showers and a cooling indoor pool. And relaxing loungers to relax between saunas. Herbal teas and fruits are available for your refreshments, and you can serve yourself. In this part of the hotel there is also a massage room, where it is necessary to book and the service is paid, wellness is included. If I remember correctly, so that the wellness would not be overcrowded, it was necessary to order there.

We have been here twice, both in summer and in winter, and our stay has always been amazing. Perhaps the only thing I would miss next time would be the New Year's Eve program. The hotel does not have a larger hall where the entertainment could take place, so it took place in a restaurant and it was quite boring, suitable for those who like a peaceful New Year's Eve. If you want to have fun a little wilder and dance, I recommend visiting the Happy End bar next to the hotel, where it lived quite differently.

My rating - 9 from 10
